THIS RESORT IS ALL-INCLUSIVE. THAT MEANS THAT EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED IN YOUR ROOM COST: ALL THE RESTAURANTS, ALL THE BARS, ALL THE ENTERTAINMENT, ALL THE ACTIVITIES, ALL THE SERVICE, TIPS, AIRPORT TRANSFERS. EVERYTHING.
We visited a number of resorts in The DR and are glad we did. We have changed from our original resort. Now that we have moved TBD to December, the cost per room is about the same as the original resort BUT the quality and experience is $500 per night better: From the space, to the rooms, to the service, to the amenities, and everything else, it excels.
The name of the resort we have chosen is the ADULTS ONLY (18+) Excellence El Camen. There are two Excellence properties within a five minute drive of each other. El Carmen was built in 2016 and has a modern, hip vibe with a muted color scheme, a ton of space, good health and safety protocol (very important in the 'Time of Covid'), 18 bars, 12 restaurants, nightly entertainment, an incredible beach, 23 pools, and a very laid back feel. The Excellence Punta Cana (the other one) has a more traditional Caribbean feel and decor. We did a side by side and decided that El Carmen was more of a fit for us and...YOU. Checking out multiple resorts was a pain but, hey, someone had to do it!
